The First Dream - For Original Characters
As you open your eyes, you become aware that you are seated in a lavishly decorated train with dim lighting that gives everything blue and purple tints. Seated across from you, a table between you, is a small old man with an enormous nose and large, bloodshot eyes. He seems to be deep in thought before he addresses you, his voice at once mysterious and incredibly polite. "Welcome...to the Velvet Room." He gestures to the train you are both seated in.

"So many interesting destinies, all of them about to converge...ah, but pardon me, guest. My name is Igor and I am delighted to make your acquaintance. This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter...it is a room that only those bound by a "contract" may enter. Perhaps you will also have such a fate waiting for you. But please, why don't you introduce yourself?" He nods when you do, taking the name into his memory.

He smiles. "You are one with an intriguing destiny, but it is up to you whether or not you will accept your fate. A great change is about to arrive for you, and you will have the choice of entering a contract to take charge of your fate. For you see, you have the ability to defy the fate that is coming. If you do not...it is possible that you will be lost forever. It is my duty to help the guests that arrive here to ensure that this does not happen."

He places an elegant pocketwatch on the table, perfectly in the center between the two of you. "This is a gift that may help you in the times to come. However, in return, all I ask is that you accept responsibility for all of your actions."

Your mind full of thoughts, you nod your head, agreeing to do so as your hand reaches forward and takes the pocketwatch.

Igor seems pleased by this and nods. "Very well. You will visit me again, and when you do, I will be able to tell you more about how I can help you."
